Growing up I was involved in numerous coding programs for kids. I began my career in software
development as an intern for Level 12 in the Fall of 2018. I've gained more experience and expertise
since then, taking on more complex projects, and eventually being promoted from Intern to Junior
Developer. I'll finish up my senior year of high school in 2021/22 and plan to pursue a computer
science degree in college.
My role at the company is twofold: I develop software alongside the rest of the team and I also
assist in administrative tasks such as payroll and invoicing. While I prefer doing software
development, my involvement in the latter aspect of the company is a valuable learning experience.
Q&A
Do you deserve a geek badge? Why or why not?
Probably not. I don’t really have many geeky qualifications aside from being a software developer
and I doubt my friends or family would describe me as a geek.
What’s your favorite bumper sticker?
All gave some. Some gave all.
What would you do if you didn’t have to work?
I'd probably work anyway.
What do you miss most about being a child?
I miss the simplicity of childhood.
What do you like most about your job? What do you like least?
I like working at Level 12 because it gives me an opportunity to learn, be productive, and help
other people at the same time. Many, if not all, of the reasons I would dislike Level 12 are not
company-based but challenges I would face anywhere. All in all, Level 12 is a fantastic place to
work.
What’s one of your favorite websites?
Desiring God
What’s your favorite quote?
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every
weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before
us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before
him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary
or fainthearted.”
Hebrews 12:1-3
What’s your goal in life?
To glorify God and enjoy him forever. I think that looks like living life as a faithful son,
brother, and eventually husband and father, stewarding the blessings God has given me well, and
keeping the faith through hardship and suffering to the very end.
