Computers became a large part of my life when I picked up Visual Basic back in 1997. Born and raised in Connecticut, I went to Cedarville University in Ohio to major in computer science, then moved to Kentucky. After freelancing for about a year, picking up coding projects where I could find them, I started working part-time for Randy (back when the company was still RCS Computers). Part-time became full-time a couple years later.
While my primary responsibility is to write code, I also frequently interact with the customer to understand their needs, as a business. As our toolset has adapted over the last few years, I have had the opportunity to learn new solutions and technical skills over time.
My wife Rachel and I were married on August 6, 2011, and we are greatly blessed (and shed upon) by our standard Schnauzer mix, Elfie. My B.S. is in Computer Science, and I also have an M. Div.
Against: I enjoy the outdoors. Then again, I don’t know why that would be against geek-hood…
Least – It’s too easy to “zone in” – focusing so much on the computer screen that I miss seeing the world around me.
