As part of our dedication to Client Empathy and Radical Candor, we value transparency and honesty, beginning with the sales process and continuing through our partnerships with our clients.
You will walk away from the Business Discovery call with a better understanding about Level 12, the way in which we work, and most importantly, we will both have a better understanding of whether we are a good match for your project.
During the call we will discuss
In the spirit of transparency, it's important for us to say this: if you're looking to build the next Facebook on a $3,000 budget, we are probably not the right fit for you. While we have no objection to taking on projects with a smaller scope, we set realistic expectations and we never sacrifice the quality or integrity of our work. We charge rates that are competitive with other domestic software development agencies, and we have an intense devotion to providing a positive Return on Investment to our partners.
While the Business Discovery Session gives everyone a broad understanding of your project and timeline, the Technical Discovery Call dives deep into the guts of the project. We'll consider challenges that you might face, technology choices, and project requirements. Usually by the end of this call we can give you a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimate.
Most of our clients come away from this call with a better understanding of not only the project they are starting, but also of the underlying business problem they are trying to solve.
Many smaller projects with a clearly defined scope can often skip the Engineering Phase and jump directly into development.
Larger or more complex projects require a paid Engineering Phase. This allows us to more deeply evaluate the scope of the project, the amount of work required, and the costs involved. At the end of an Engineering Phase you will have not only a work spec, but the work will be broken down into major issues (we call these Epics) with estimates for each Epic. After this phase you will still have the opportunity to walk away from the project before development begins.

We operate on 2 week development cycles, which means there is frequent opportunity to re-evaluate our progress, priorities, and vision for the project to ensure they are aligned with client expectations. We pride ourselves on our commitment to Vision Transfer and the positive impact it has on the success of our clients' projects.
